We spent a busy 4th of July weekend cleaning, cleaning, touching up, painting, cleaning, and cleaning. Mom and Dad came down to help for three days, and they were priceless! We cleaned windows, mopped floors, dusted, wiped out cabinets, vacuumed, swept, organized, and threw out a bunch of junk. We were all exhausted and glad when the two days of cleaning were over! The payoff, though, was great - the house looks spectacular!
Dad did an excellent job cleaning up the shop:
Dad helped clean windows too!

Dad scrubbed stains in the carpet and cut glue spots out of it:
Mom scrubbed the basement bathroom:
On Sunday morning, Uncle Gerry drove to town to have breakfast with us and help paint the privacy fence in the backyard! If you remember...it was all shades of gray before...and now it is a pretty white! It isn't such an eyesore in the backyard. Thank you Uncle Gerry for helping us!!
Yes, I get a big kick out of making everyone pose for pictures! Haha! :) And they are such good sports to humor me...:)
Dad and Chad also sprayed weeds around the house, and Chad mowed and trimmed with the weed eater. Our good friend Lee also stopped by on Saturday and gave us his assistance in lawn edging, and Lee also got the scraping of the fence started. The driveway and sidewalks look awesome! In an effort to dress up the outside of the house, I also brought over some simple flower pots with purple petunias. It sure does help!
On Monday, Chad painted the stairway railing, which cleaned it up a lot!
We also finished touching up some paint spots, caulking a few things, cleaning out the rest of the house, and Chad cleaned out a bunch of things from the garage. It is now ready for the market!
Tonight we met with our realtor. The only recommendation that she made was to pull the weeds in the rock patch outside that is used for a driveway extension. She thought it would make for a better picture of the front of the house to not see the weeds in there. So Chad and I donned our work gloves and set about pulling weeds. It was a beautiful evening to sit outside and chat while we worked. Once all the weeds were pulled, we added some new white rock to the mix to make it look a little cleaner. It definitely looks better than the weeds! Unfortunately, it was dark when we finished, so tomorrow I will have better pictures in the daylight.
Tomorrow the house goes on the market!!! It is a big day. Our realtor will be at the house in the morning to snap some pictures while the morning sun is at it's best for lighting in the house. She said the gals at the office will get it on the MLS most likely late morning. We settled on an asking price and are hoping for a quick sale. We would now appreciate everyone's prayers as we begin the next phase of the house flipping process. We are excited to finally be at this point, but also very nervous about how it is going to go.
A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has helped us physically, prayerfully, and thoughtfully over the last 10 months. We COULD NOT have done this project without each of you, and we are so very grateful! Tomorrow I will post pictures of the finished project with the light staging done by Mom and I. I will also be taking us all on a trip down memory lane and will be posting before and after pictures. Stay tuned for the final product!
